What is ISCA?

The Illinois Security Chiefs Association is an incorporated not-for-profit organization comprised of security administrators representing Illinois business, industry, and institutions who employ or contract security personnel. Founded in 1960 by a group of progressive security administrators, the association serves as a vehicle for the exchange of experience and information regarding security techniques and technology.

The ISCA has been represented at various state legislative and regulatory advisory committees affecting the security industry in Illinois. Representatives of ISCA have testified at legislative hearings involving security regulation.

The ISCA has established an effective relationship with the law enforcement community. The Chicago Police Department has a representative who is a member of the association. This relationship has resulted in workshops for ISCA members in crime prevention and evidence identification conducted by the Chicago Police Department. The association is also represented on the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Committee for "Private/Public Police Liason", formed to create a better understanding and working relationship between law enforcement and private security

The ISCA, at it's monthly meetings, informs members of legislation, advancing technology, and current developments affecting the security field.

The association conducts periodic seminars, conferences, and workshops. It sponsors the Midwest Security Conference, jointly with the Chicago Chapters of ASIS and IAHSS.
